Tuesday, April 10th

Today was a very chilly and windy day.  The high temperature was only 41ºF, and wind gusts up to almost 30 mph made caused the wind chill to be in the lower thirties for most of the day.  Currently we have clear skies and a temperature of 31ºF.  The temperature is expected to drop down to about 24ºF tonight.  These low temperatures and calm winds should bring some frost to the area.  Right now the dew point is 18ºF , the pressure is 30.21 in. and staying steady, and winds from the northwest at about 5 mph.  Tomorrow should be a warmer day with sunny skies and a high of 55ºF.
The current surface map does not show much in our neck of the woods, but there are some interesting things going on throughout the country. You can see a large cold front in the southeastern US with some storms in front of the front that are just heading out into the ocean.  In the southwest, there is a line of storms on the coast of California with many low pressure systems in front of it.  Finally, a stationary front can be seen at the edge of the Rocky Mountains which is caused by air sinking from the mountains and warming.
